SMALL JOBS DONE PROPERLY

Not every project needs a full renovation. Sometimes you just need a deck built properly, a new fence that lasts, or a set of French doors installed without the gaps and drama. The problem is finding a licensed builder who'll take the smaller jobs seriously.

We take on carpentry and smaller building projects across Brisbane — decks, fences, door and window installs. The same attention to detail we bring to a full renovation, applied to the jobs most builders knock back.

Deck Construction

Hardwood and composite decking, ground-level and raised, with or without pergola cover. We handle the structural framing, decking boards, balustrades, and any required building permits. Built to last Brisbane's weather, not just look good in photos.

Photos of the area and a rough idea of the size you want is enough to start a quote conversation. We'll come measure and give you a fixed price.

Fences & Boundary Work

Timber paling, hardwood, Colourbond, and feature fencing. We handle boundary fencing, side gates, pool fencing compliance, and privacy screens. Work is done to council setback requirements and built to the standard you'd expect from a licensed builder.

Send us photos and the approximate run length. We'll quote it accurately — no inflated hourly rates or guesswork.

Door & Window Installs

French doors, bi-fold doors, skylights, new window openings, and replacement windows. We handle the structural lintel work where required, waterproofing, and finishing — so the install doesn't leak, rattle, or swell after the first wet season.

Photos of the current opening (or the wall you want cut) and the product you have in mind is enough to get a quote. We'll advise on the structural side.

Carpentry FAQs

Yes for most decks in Queensland — any deck over 10m² or attached to the house typically requires a building approval and must be built by a QBCC licensed builder. Farr is QBCC licensed (#15176713) and handles the permit work as part of the quote.

A carpenter is qualified in the timber trade — framing, joinery, decks, doors and windows. A licensed builder takes on the legal responsibility for a project: permits, certifications, warranties, structural sign-off. Tomas is both — a qualified carpenter AND a QBCC licensed builder.

A standard ground-level deck runs 1–2 weeks once on site. Raised decks with structural posts and footings, or decks with pergola cover, are 2–4 weeks. Larger composite decks with integrated lighting and screens can extend to 4–6 weeks.

Both. Like-for-like replacement of existing windows is straightforward. New window openings require lintel and structural work — we handle that too. Aluminium, timber, double-glazed, fixed or sliding — whatever you specify, we install properly with correct flashing and waterproofing.

Yes — pool fencing is one of the more common carpentry jobs we take on. We build to Queensland's Pool Safety Standard (QDC MP 3.4) and coordinate the inspection certificate.
